Guest Teacher Qualifications, Clearances and Certification Requirements
Guest Teachers must:
- have a Bachelor’s degree
- be a U.S. Citizen
- have completed baccalaureate work in the U.S.
You do not need to have a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate.
Guest Teachers must obtain the following clearances:
- Act 34
- Act 151
- Act 114 (fingerprinting)
Clearances are district specific. To avoid applying for Act 34, 151 and 114 Clearances each year, you must substitute at least one day in each district.
What are the certification requirements?
- RIU6 will apply for and hold a PA Certification - Type 06 (Emergency Certification)
- Applicants are required to supply a copy of your baccalaureate degree
- Applicants are required to supply sealed, official transcripts for your first year of certification.
- Your degree and transcript information need only be submitted for the first year of your Guest Teacher position.
