This program provides you with the fundamentals to become a safe & responsible driver.

RIU6, in partnership with ARIN IU28, offers Driver Education Training.

Driver Education consists of two parts: 1) a theory course and 2) behind the wheel training.  Our certified driver education instructors work individually with each driver to maximize the learning experience. Participants must have completed the Classroom Theory course with a passing grade and have a valid driving permit in order to enroll in the program.

The theory course is an online course through ARIN IU. The price for any student in IU6 area is $125.  This is an instructor led course which takes 30 hours to complete.

Behind the wheel training: The price for any student in IU6 area is $220. To take the six 1 hour sessions, you will need to have taken the theory course and have your permit. Behind the wheel sessions will be held regionally based off of registrant home school districts.  The theory course can be online or through your school. Per PennDOT licensing requirements, parents are expected to supplement this instruction with a minimum of 65 hours of on-the-road instruction.  Once successfully completing the classroom theory course and the required on-the-road instruction hours, the student is eligible to take the final PennDOT licensing exam with our instructor, free of charge.
