Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 has the following positions available.

Child Specific Paraprofessional for two students at North Clarion Elementary School (Education Assistant)
This position is full-time position (184 days) working in Special Education as a child specific paraprofessional for two elementary students in an Autism classroom. Requires valid high school diploma, Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances, highly qualified certification preferred (we provide training if needed). This is a bargaining unit position. Hours are 7:45am-3:15pm depending on student and school schedules.

Supervisor of Special Education (School Age & Early Intervention assignments)
Full-time, 10 month, permanent position (210 days) Act 93 administrative position with salary range commensurate to a mid-level administrator in the mid-western PA region ($67,000-$75,000). Requires valid PA certification for Special Education Supervision or Principal’s certification and Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances.
Note: A person interested in moving into administration and looking to take necessary coursework to obtain Principal’s certification or Special Education Supervisor certification can apply for this position as well (hiring would be contingent on your completing the necessary certification within 3 years).

Itinerant Paraprofessional on Special Assignment (IPOSA)
(Clarion County)
This position is temporary full-time position (184 days) working in Special Education as an itinerant paraprofessional that travels within a region special assignments. Requires valid high school diploma, Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances, highly qualified certification preferred (we provide training if needed). This is a bargaining unit position with modified benefits package (see attached listing from Memorandum of Understanding). Hours vary from school to school but are roughly 7:45am-3:15pm depending on student and school schedules.

Special Education Service Coordinator
- This is a newly added position with Penn Highlands coordinating with RIU6 & DuBois ASD to open additional programming at their East Campus in DuBois for Acute Care in Mental Health and a Residential Treatment Facility for youth.
Full-time (185 days) professional union position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires Bachelors or Masters degree in special education with appropriate PA Instructional I or II Teaching Certificate. Experience with students in residential placements preferred.

Full-time, 185-day, professional union position with salary and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement. Requires valid certification/licensure in PA for Speech and Language pathologists. Acts 24, 34, 114, 126, 151, and 168 clearances are required.

Guest Teacher Training
Guest Teacher Training at RIU6 – Substitutes needed for RIU6 Region Schools
If you have a College Degree, an Emergency Teaching Permit can be issued for you to do day to day subbing in our schools as much or as little as needed. This training is a small preparatory program with some virtual videos, lots of paperwork, a few key special education topics, and a $25 processing fee, and you can get your emergency teaching permit to substitute in our schools and make some money on off days or everyday as our schools are desperate.
